Asic Rockminer Today we review a good old SHA/256 Bitcoin miner.
Have you heart about the new R-Box Rockminer? Its a Chinese Cheap sha-256 asic miner, that is a competitor of the expensive but populair hex-fury.
Whit the Fux-Fury you need a really good USB hub, a powerfull power-supply, a usb power injector, and you need 5.2 volt instead of 5 volts.
No need for that whit the Rockminer, moste shops will sell them complete whit power-full power-supply, no injectors are needed, and it will not burn you house down.
Numbers:
The Rockminer will cost you around 80 bucks, whitout shipping at most shops.
It seems the "R-Box Rockminer" can make Return on Investment whit a little luck, the Fex-fury will never make RoI and cost around $150 Dollars.
My first test of the Rockminer this night is successfully, It seems to run whit low hardware errors, is 43 Celsius hot, and uses 36 watts of power at 240 volts. Its really well build and reall let me think to the Gridseed miners ;-)
How to Install The R-BOX or RK-Box RockMiner or Rocket Miner?
See the Instruction video below or follow this steps
1. Download the R-Box configured cgminer
2. Download Zadig Windows Driver
3. Plug in the power of your miner and connect USB cable to the computer.
Windows will recognized the USB miner but will fail to to install a driver. This is OK
4. Run Zadig. Use the drop-down to find the "CP 2120 USB to UART Bridge Controller" entry.
If it doesn't show, select "Options->List All Devices"
5. Set the new driver to be WinUSB and click Install (or Re-Install) driver.
6. If it is successful you will see a message thats its successfully changed the driver.
7. Extract cgminer to your chosen location
8. Right mouse click, select edit on the “startmining.bat” file inside cgminer to change to your own information.
(i.e. mining pool, username, password)
10. See example below:
cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --rmu-freq 290 -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u ZetaOS.dual1 -p x
-o = mining pool address : mining pool port number
-u = workername from your mining pool
-p = password for your worker
--rmu-freq = controls speed (possible values =200 - 300)
